			<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small"&gt;     &lt;span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial"&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;i&gt;Empire of the Sun&lt;/i&gt; is a novel, which portrays the Japanese occupation of mainland China during the Second World War. It was first published in 1984, and was written by the author J.G Ballard. Ballard presents his first-hand account of events during the war through the eyes of the fictional character, James (Jim) Graham, a twelve-year-old boy. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
