Isabella: Top Trumps

18/05/2009 19:44:35 - By host - comments 0 Comments

My name is Isabella, I am 10 years old, and I have enjoyed doing this project.
I chose this idea to help people to learn about different computer facts in a fun way.

This project is based on computers, but instead of doing boring pictures of computers/laptops I used cool robot pictures to represent them.

On the cards are the name, pictures and some different facts about different computers.

To make the cards
you have to print the attached slide with the cards on and the green slide to decorate the back, stick them on back to back, then cut them up into each individual playing card.

To play
The purpose of the game is to win all of your opponent’s cards.
You begin by handing out the cards equally. Then the youngest player starts by choosing one of the facts from the card on the top of his pile about that computer. e.g.

“Mac Book - ease of use = 5/10”.

The opponent reads the same fact for the card on the top of his pack e.g.

“Fujitsuistic ease of use = 9/10”.

Whoever has the highest fact (in our example, this is the Fujitsuistic, of course) wins their opponent’s card which they place on the bottom of their own pack along with their own winning card.

In the event of the facts being equal, the same person selects a fact from the next card on top of his pack, with the winner then taking all of the cards from both rounds.

The winner then goes first, choosing another fact from the new card on top of his pack.
The competitors repeat this until one of them wins the game by winning all of their opponent’s cards.
