Le Petit Prince

The kids were great and thoroughly enjoyed the play in the historic venue of Wigmore Hall.  They were applauding a dramatisation of a French modern classic written in 1943 during the World War within the  London East End walls of what was formerly the Bechstein Hall built in 1901 by the famous German piano maker Carl Bechstein whose son Edwin, according to Wikkipedia was given a state funeral by the Nazis because of his wife’s support of them.

During the interval  I munched my  way through a cream cheese and smoke salmon bagel baked in my favourite ‘bagelry’ located in near-by Brick Lane with its myriad of world communities who have lived there over the centuries. This reminded me again how important it was to ensure that the European School Culham with its insistence on multilingual and international education endures into the future.
Les grandes personnes ne comprennent jamais rien toutes seules, et c'est fatigant, pour les enfants, de toujours leur donner des explications.
Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.
Antoine de St Exupéry, Le Petit Prince

And of course we teachers and educators can always learn best from our pupils on how to improve their learning.
