A group of Culham students is planning to go to Egypt during Easter. It is a fascinating destination at a fascinating time.
We are organising a series of events that we believe will be of interest to you - and it will also help us raise some much-needed funds.
So please put the following in your diaries:
Thursday March 10th, 7.30 pm, Schuman Hall.
An Evening of Squiggles
My challenge is to teach you to write in Arabic! Your challenge will be to concentrate for a couple of hours and master a very exotic script. It will be fun with plenty of student helpers (to tell you off when you get it wrong!), songs, prizes and refreshments of wine and soft drinks.
Cost - £8 per adult; £5 per student.
Thursday March 17th, Drama Studio.
Film Evening
We will show the much acclaimed 'Jacoubian Building'. This gives a fascinating insight into Egyptian society and throws some light on the reasons for the recent revolution.
Cost - £5 per person. Only suitable for 15 yrs and above. Drama Studio.
Thursday March 24th, Schuman Hall
Quiz Night
The students have spent much time devising exciting questions to challenge your knowledge of Egypt. The rounds will be interactive and a lot of fun for the whole family. There will be buffet food and a variety of Egyptian items to buy. Also we will have a raffle with prizes of original Egyptian art, belly-dancing lessons and much more.
Cost - £10 for a table for four. £5 per head for the buffet.
All tickets can be bought from Reception or from any one of the students going on the trip (Richard Souplet, Max Baas-Thomas, Joscha Gutjahr, Tine-Marie Aistrup, Ola Kossakowska, Lucie Coudret, Daniel Ghadimi, Sam Boren, Josephine Steffensen, Sam Hodges, Aidan Piggott and Luke Calland). We will be issuing tickets on the night at the door - but it would help our planning very much if you could buy the tickets in advance.
Many thanks in advance for your support. By the end of March we should all be much wiser about Egypt!
