Young Enterprise launched at Culham

A group of 20 students from Y5 have set up a Young Enterprise company at Culham and, so far, have shown enormous enthusiasm and entrepreneurial flair in this exciting project. They have been assisted every step of the way by two business advisers Colin and Graham who attend the board meetings and ensure that the company is run according to good business practice. 

The first task was to elect a Board of Directors ably led by their Managing Director Jasper Murison-Bowie, assisted by Jonny Corrie, Financial Director Marius Weber and the marketing team led by Jakob Reid. The Company Secretary, Alicia Kaupp-Roberts prepares the agenda for board meetings and writes the minutes as well as galvanising the team in advance of the weekly Board Meetings.  After much discussion, the company decided to write their own stories and record audio books under the company name of Children’s Audio Books (CAB). After opening a bank account and raising finance by selling shares, the first edition of Christmas Tales has just been published and was launched at the Culham Flea Market on December 3rd. The picture shows some members of the sales team preparing the stall. Every member of the company has put a tremendous amount of work into making it succeed and they hope to sell their stock by Christmas. Sales could be further boosted by a recent appearance by Jasper, the Managing Director, on BBC Oxford on Sunday 11th December.
