The Tales Of Beedle The Bard by JK Rowling is a fiction/fantasy written in the same style as Harry Potter. It is supposed to be a book of short wizard fairy tales. So most of them have a moral.
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard is set in the same world as Harry Potter. These fairy tales were mentioned in the last Harry Potter book, so JK Rowling has actually made the book of fairy tales. It has various stories including ‘‘The Tale of Three Brothers’’ which is about three brothers who cheated death. Death, pretending to congratulate the brothers on cheating him, gave them a gift each to trick them into dying instead.
Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books has written additional notes about each of the five fairy tales. He writes about his opinion of the story and the hidden morals too. I thought this was a good idea because I can still read about on of the main characters in the Harry Potter stories, even though the series of Harry Potter has come to an end.
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard is written in the third person and can bring laughter and thrill. ‘‘He saw his father’s old cooking pot: it had sprouted a single foot of brass, and was hopping on the spot, in the middle of the floor. Making a fearful noise upon the flagstones.’’
If you buy this book, you will not only enjoy these wonderful stories but you will also be helping Children’s High Level Group. One pound from the purchase of The Tales Of Beedle The Bard will go to this charity. JK Rowling, the author of the award-winning Harry Potter books has decided to set up this charity to help marginalized children. The charity has already helped with strategies to stop abandonment of babies in hospitals and helped to improve the care of children with disabilities and handicaps.
In my opinion, it was a terrific book. I was so glad when the book came out because it was like a little continuation of the Harry Potter books. It’s a very enjoyable book, but if you’ve read the Harry Potter books, then you will enjoy it even more because you recognize one of the tales in this book from the latest Harry Potter. My rating would be 4/5 stars.
