Our schools linking programme to date facilitates a link between schools in Zambia and the ES Culham. We are planning to form a cluster of schools in the UK and in Africa all intertwined in the African-UK linking programme. We are aiming to broaden the UK schools understanding of global and cross cultural issues, through the creation of a global learning environment between linked schools.
We are looking to share knowledge and ideas, through letter exchanges and joint project work.
We currently work with 2 schools in Zambia; Mutende Basic in Kitwe and Maanu Mwami in Livingstone - two Primary and Middle Schools.
We raise money which is spent directly on our partner school in Zambia. This makes a real difference to schools in Zambia, and UK schools can see directly how their efforts are benefiting children in Zambia.
With funding from the British Council, we facilitate Reciprocal Visits for teachers between partner schools; this involves a teacher from each school visiting and spending time learning, observing and sharing ideas with their partner school in the UK or Zambia.
We also undertake students visits to our partner schools in Zambia to engage with every day life of our fellow pupils in the local schools there. We encourage our students to immerse themselves in the local culture.
