As you are no doubt aware, there has been a great deal of concern about the wholesale fraudulent practice of selling horsemeat in the guise of beef. The fraud seems to have affected the meat supply chain throughout the UK and further afield.
We shall be following the advice issued to schools by the DfE http://www.education.gov.uk/a00221689/qa-horsemeat-schools-academies and the UK Food Standards Agency.

Our school food catering company has asked us inform you that, as a precautionary measure, it is suspending its normal lunchtime menu for the first two days next week and will be offering the following:
Monday: Tuna Pasta Bake
Tuesday: Roast Turkey, New Potatoes and Green Beans
The remainder of the week will be planned on Monday and communicated accordingly.
Until further clarification is received from our suppliers about the provenance of their meat products at risk of containing horsemeat, our caterers will cease using them.
