Germans are often perceived as less easygoing and cheerful due to their cultural values and historical context. The German culture places a strong emphasis on efficiency, punctuality, and order, which can lead to a more serious and reserved demeanor. Additionally, the country's history, including the impact of World War II and the division of East and West Germany, has influenced the national psyche and contributed to a more cautious and pragmatic outlook on life. These factors combined contribute to the perception of Germans as less easygoing and cheerful compared to some other cultures. **

On the other hand, historical periods were also marked by strict social norms and expectations, which could have made people less easygoing in certain aspects of their lives. Ultimately, the perception of people being more easygoing in the past is subjective and can vary depending on individual experiences and perspectives. **
